Spider Vein & Capillary Removal

Broken capillaries are visible enlarged blood vessels that appear on the face and other parts of the body. They are fine, red veins that are commonly located on the nose, chin, chest, or cheeks. These vessels usually appear as a result of aging, pregnancy, childbirth, birth control pills, estrogen replacement therapy, sun damage, and Rosacea.

Laser treatment is the most effective treatment for broken capillaries. The visible blood vessels are removed by light absorbed by the blood that destroys the vessel.  We use 1064 Nd: Yag for larger, deeper veins. And the shorter wavelength laser, 532 KTP for smaller, more superficial veins.  Ice is applied before, and during each treatment.  The laser passes light through the skin, heating up the blood in the vessel. This causes thermocoagulation of the treated vessel. The clogged vessel is then slowly absorbed naturally by the body, allowing for your smooth, natural skin to show.

Our lasers are safe and effective, producing gradual results. Larger veins may require two to four treatments for improvement. Small veins may only require a single treatment for repair. Laser treatment has very few side effects. A darkening of the treated capillaries after treatment is common and normal. This discoloration can last anywhere from 5-14 days depending on the location, and size of the vessel being treated. The use of one of our professional sunscreens on the treated area is recommended for post-treatment care.
