What is CoolSculpting?
CoolSculpting is a fat-freezing technique that helps to remove persistent fat in specific areas of the body. It was approved by the US Food and Drug Administration in 2010. The temperature at which fat freezes is greater than the temperature at which skin freezes. The machine cools your fat to the point that it is destroyed, leaving your skin and other tissues unscathed.
Cryolipolysis is not a surgical procedure and does not require the use of needles. Between two paddles, the gadget carries the part of the body that the doctor needs to target. The paddles cool fast, but the doctor can keep them in for half an hour. The procedure kills roughly 20% to 25% of the targeted region’s fat cells during that time.
The final results can take a few months to appear, but you can see improvements within a few weeks. Over time, the immune system gradually gets rid of the dead fat cells.
This isn’t a weight-loss procedure.
Since fat does not weigh as much as muscle, fat freezing would not result in significant weight loss. Losing inches is a considerable accomplishment, even though it doesn’t show up on the scale. However, you can always keep track of your weight and eat a balanced diet while exercising regularly. CoolSculpting is for those who want to make minor changes since it isn’t intended to be a one-stop shop for serious fat loss like liposuction.
